Amity Rose (aka Meghan McGeary) is a versatile powerhouse vocalist, performing songwriter, high-energy frontwoman and entertainer. Cat-like, as she is, she's on her 3rd or 4th lifetime, or so it seems...can you dig it?
Born and raised in Pittsburgh, PA (da Burgh!), self-titled Amity spent her formative years as a working singing-actor based in NYC. She is now in two other great American cities: the beloved City by the Bay (San Francisco) and the Crescent City (New Orleans), as a part-time resident.
Amity performs intimate shows or rocks the house in duo, trio and full band formats, with an eclectic range of influences and cover material including rock, jazzy twang, rockabilly, blues, and jazz standards from the American songbook. A special incarnation, THE AMITY ROSE COLLECTIVE, recently played a love letter to San Francisco for the epic 2026 SF Porchfest, with rock covers from the 1960s-70s.
Amity also sings and hosts blues jams with Justin Norton's Up Jumped the Devil, and guests in at various favorite Bay Area venues, making new musical friends while she writes the next chapter.

As a performing songwriter, AR gives listening room shows accompanying herself on piano, guitar, and ukulele. She fuses a vintage sound with haunting narratives, a twisted sense of humor and soaring vocals. With jazz, rock, Americana and French art-song influences, these musical tales unfold like vignettes. Good evening, all you cats and kittens and welcome to my parlor. This is my debut album of original songs, some funny, some serious, with a few favorite jazz covers as extras bonus tracks. I love old theatrical radio shows and the album format...so I've approached this record like a time-traveling romp and vaudeville act with an opening and a closing. The interludes function as entr'actes between songs. My vintage instruments are the muses of my songwriting with all of their different voices. One song was written on a 1920s soprano JR Stewart ukulele and 1931 banjulele (Just Around the Bend), some on tenor uke (Pretty Little Things, High Wire, Well-Seasoned Wood), some on my little Stella 1936 tenor guitar (What They Came For, Night Turns to Black...everyone say, "STELLA!") and a few on a 1940s Harmony F hole archtop acoustic guitar (Change of Clime, Across the Sea). Several of these cast of characters make appearance on this record, including a little button accordion from the late 1800's (Across the Sea).
